Day 1: Arrival - Ho Chi Minh City (D)

You are welcomed by our guide at Tan Son Nhat airport and then be transferred to your hotel in the center of city. Half day city tour visit Reunification Palace, War Museum, and Notre Dame Cathedral with the passing Ben Thanh market. Welcome dinner & over night in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2: Mekong Delta (B/L/D)
Our car will pick up at your hotel in early morning. Upon arrival at Cai Be, embark a private boat to cruise around Cai Be Floating Market to see local people being selling, buying, and exchanging goods from their boats. Visit local garden and house to see orchard, rice crisped producing process, etc.. After lunch at an Ancient garden house proceeding to Vinh Long, passing small and beautiful canal see peaceful tranquil life of villagers, admire marvelous natural setting of Mekong Delta region. Stop at An Binh islet famous for their fruit orchards. After crossing the Co Chien river, the excursion ends at Vinh Long pier where our driver is waiting for your drive back to Saigon - end tour.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City - Departure (B)
At leisure for shopping until transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for next destination.

Days 2: Hanoi (B/L/D)
Full day city tour tomorrow visiting Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Stilt House and Museum, Temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem Lake, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Ethnology Museum, One Pillar Pagoda and a cyclo tour of the Old Quarter


Days 3-4: Overnight Halong Bay (B/L/D)
After check out this morning transfer to Halong Bay, also referred to as the 'Jewel in the Crown' of Vietnam, to board your junk boat and spend the night on board. Continue cruising tomorrow. Disembark at midday and transfer back to Hanoi for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Departure Hanoi (B)
After checkout from your hotel this morning, transfer to the airport.

DAY 1: ARRIVE SAIGON

Pick up at the airport and transfer to hotel. Dinner. Overnight in Sai Gon.

 


DAY 2: SAIGON - MEKONG DELTA
Visit the Mekong Delta, the heart of South Vietnam, dotted with rice paddies and fruit plantations. Take a boat trip to Thoi Son Island, where we walk through local markets and visit the Vinh Trang pagoda. After lunch we return to Saigon.

 


DAY 3: SAIGON
Today we enjoy a full day city tour. Visit the Reunification Palace, War Remnants Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office, Cholon (Chinatown), Binh Tay Market and Thien Hau Pagoda. We finish our day at Ben Thanh Market.

 

 


DAY 4: SAIGON - CU CHI & TAY NINH
Explore the amazing network of the Cu Chi Tunnels led by a Cu Chi War Veteran who lived in the tunnels for years during the Vietnam War. We then continue to Tay Ninh to experience the midday service at the head temple of the unique Cao Dai religion.

 

DAY 5: SAIGON TO HOI AN
Fly to Danang this morning. Upon arrival we transfer to the charming town of Hoi An, stopping at Marble Mountains and China Beach en route. This afternoon we enjoy a walking tour of Hoi An, visiting Hoi An Market, a local Chinese temple and the Japanese Covered Bridge. Perhaps this afternoon you may like to visit the tailors to have some clothing made.

 

DAY 6: HOI AN
After visiting a market to purchase ingredients, we travel along Hoi An River to the Red Bridge Restaurant where we enjoy a cooking class; we learn some traditional recipes and indulge in our dishes for lunch.  The afternoon is free for you to revisit the tailors at your leisure or simply soak up the atmosphere by the Thu Bon River.

 

DAY 7: HOI AN TO HUE
Head north this morning over the scenic Hai Van Pass to Hue. Enjoy a cyclo ride to the Imperial Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City. Visit Thien Mu Pagoda and take a cruise along the Perfume River.

 

DAY 8: HUE TO HANOI
In the morning, visit the UNESCO World Heritage listed Royal Tombs of Tu Duc and Khai Dinh before we transfer to the airport for our flight to Hanoi. This evening we enjoy a performance of the famous Water Puppets.

 

DAY 9: HANOI
Visit Ho Chi Minh Quarter to see Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, Humble House on Stilts and One Pillar Pagoda. Continue on to the Temple of Literature and the Tran Quoc Pagoda. Later this afternoon we enjoy a walk through Hanoi’s charming Old Quarter.

 

DAY 10: HANOI TO HALONG BAY
Travel to the ‘Jewel in the Crown of Vietnam’ - Halong Bay and commence a cruise around the thousands of karts islets on our junk boat. Spend the night relaxing onboard.

 


DAY 11: HALONG BAY TO SAPA
Continue cruising around the islands this morning before returning to Hanoi, where this evening we board our overnight train to Sapa.

DAY 12: SAPA
We arrive in Sapa early this morning. After breakfast we visit a local market and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 13: SAPA
Embark on a light trek today to explore Sapa and the surrounding area, including the local markets, different minority villages, spectacular valleys and fine examples of tribal agriculture.

DAY 14: SAPA TO HANOI
Further explore Sapa this morning. Tonight we board our overnight sleeper train back to Hanoi.

DAY 15: DEPART HANOI
We arrive into Hanoi early this morning. The remainder of the day is free at your leisure. Later we transfer to Hanoi airport for our overnight flight to your home.

Travel south to the ‘Rice Basket of Vietnam’ - the Mekong Delta. Take a boat trip along the river and through canals stopping to explore the area, visiting Thoi Son Island and Vinh Trang Pagoda. We spend the evening in the Mekong Delta province of Can Tho.

 


DAY 4: MEKONG DELTA TO SAIGON (B/L/D)
Today we continue our explorations along the Mekong River including a visit to Cai Rang Floating Markets before returning to Saigon.

 


DAY 5: SAIGON - CU CHI & TAY NINH (B/L/D)
This morning we explore the famous Cu Chi Tunnels led by a Cu Chi War Veteran who lived in the tunnels for years during the Vietnam War. You will have the chance to climb through them, if you are feeling brave! We then head further west to Tay Ninh, where we experience the midday service at the head temple of the unique Cao Dai religion before returning to Saigon.

 


DAY 6: SAIGON TO DALAT (B/L/D)
Today we drive north to Dalat, stopping en route at ‘Chicken Village’ where the Koho minority group live.

 


DAY 7: DALAT (B/L/D)
This morning we visit Lat Village, situated at the base of Lang Biang Mountain. Later we see the Lake of Sighs and Truc Lam Pagoda. The afternoon is free at your leisure.

 

DAY 8: DALAT TO NHA TRANG (B/L/D)
Travel through the breathtaking Ngoan Muc Pass to Nha Trang today. Upon arrival we cruise around the nearby islands visiting the Tri Nguyen Aquarium, Tam Island and a local fishing village.

 


DAY 9: NHA TRANG TO QUI NHON (B/L/D)
We continue driving north today along Highway One to Qui Nhon, stopping en route at the Dam Market and Cham Po Nagar Towers.

 


DAY 10: QUY NHON TO HOI AN (B/L/D)
Leaving Quy Nhon this morning we stop at Son My to pay homage to the victims of the My Lai Massacre before continuing to the town of Hoi An. This afternoon is free at your leisure; perhaps use the time to visit one of the many tailors in the town to have some clothing made.

 


DAY 11: HOI AN (B/L/D)
Enjoy a walking tour of Hoi An, visiting the Japanese Covered Bridge, a local Chinese temple, Hoi An Market and an old merchant’s home, where descendents of the original merchant still reside.

 


DAY 12: HOI AN (B/L/D)
Today is free to visit the tailors or soak up the charming atmosphere of Hoi An at one of the many riverside cafés along the Thu Bon River.

 


DAY 13: HOI AN TO HUE

Leaving Hoi An, we visit Marble Mountains and China Beach before continuing over the Hai Van Pass to Hue. Take a cyclo ride to the Imperial Citadel and continue by coach to Thien Mu Pagoda from where we enjoy a boat trip on the Perfume River. This evening we partake in a cooking class focusing on select local dishes and cuisine.

 


DAY 14: HUE TO HANOI
Visit the UNESCO World Heritage listed Royal Tombs of Tu Duc and Khai Dinh this morning, before flying to Hanoi. This evening enjoy a performance of the famous Water Puppets, a specialty of the north.

 


DAY 15: HANOI
Our city tour today includes Ho Chi Minh Quarter, where we see the Humble House on Stilts and One Pillar Pagoda. Afterwards we drive to the Temple of Literature and Hoan Kiem Lake. Later enjoy a walking tour of Hanoi’s bustling Old Quarter.

 


DAY 16: HANOI TO HALONG BAY
Travel to Halong Bay where you spend the night onboard a junk boat.

 


DAY 17: HALONG BAY TO HANOI

Continue cruising around the islets this morning before returning to Hanoi this afternoon.

 


DAY 18: DEPART HANOI
Enjoy a full day at leisure before boarding your overnight flight to your home.
